Terms and Conditions

Groundwork Terms & Conditions

Version 1.0. Effective 6th October 2026.

(Previous versions are available on request.)

1. Who we are and how to contact us

1.1 Groundwork is operated by Golden Apple Corps Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 08170496, registered office 320 Firecrest Court, Centre Park, Warrington, WA1 1RG. Our VAT registration number is GB 140 4076 50.

1.2 You can contact us at [email protected]. If we need to contact you, we will use the email address you gave us when you bought from us.

1.3 In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Golden Apple Corps Limited. “You” means the person or business that buys Groundwork.

2. These terms

2.1 These are the terms on which we supply Groundwork to you. Please read them before you buy. By buying you accept them.

2.2 Some clauses apply only if you are a consumer, meaning you are an individual buying wholly or mainly for personal use. Others apply only if you are a business customer. Where that is the case, we say so.

2.3 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

3. The service

3.1 Groundwork is an online tool that takes you through a structured strategic method before any copy is written. It produces three linked documents for each project: a Strategic Brief, a Campaign Brief and a Copywriter’s Brief. It draws on the direct response methodology of Drayton Bird.

3.2 Groundwork does not write finished copy. It produces the thinking and the briefs that copy should be written from.

3.3 Access is online and immediate. There is nothing to deliver physically.

3.4 We will supply the service with reasonable care and skill.

3.5 Groundwork produces output using artificial intelligence. Output is generated and not checked by a person. It may contain errors, inaccuracies or material that does not suit your purpose. The quality of the briefs depends on the accuracy and honesty of what you put in. You are responsible for reviewing output before you rely on it. We do not warrant that output will be accurate, original or fit for any particular purpose and we do not give marketing, legal, financial or professional advice.

4. Your account and the information you give us

4.1 The information you give us when you buy must be true, accurate and complete. That includes your name, your email address, your billing address and your payment details.

4.2 You must keep that information up to date for as long as you have an account.

4.3 You must not buy using a false or assumed name, an email address intended to conceal who you are or payment details you are not authorised to use.

4.4 Your login is personal to you or to the business that buys. You are responsible for keeping it secure and for anything done using it.

5. Projects and credits

5.1 Groundwork is sold in project credits. One credit pays for one project. A project is one product or service, taken through the full method to its three briefs.

5.2 Your first purchase creates your account and gives you one credit. You can buy further credits at any time from your account.

5.3 Each project includes three rounds of amendments to its briefs at no extra charge.

5.4 An amendment refines the project it belongs to. It must not be used to turn a project into a different product, service or campaign. Groundwork checks for this when a brief is regenerated and may decline an amendment that does. A different product, service or campaign needs a new credit.

5.5 Credits are personal to your account. They cannot be transferred to another account or exchanged for cash, except as set out in clauses 8 and 9.

5.6 Unused credits do not expire while your account remains open.

6. Prices and payment

6.1 The current prices are:

  • 1 project credit: $58
  • 3 project credits: $139.97
  • 5 project credits: $219.97
  • 10 project credits: $399.97

6.2 Prices are exclusive of VAT and of any other tax that applies to you. Any tax due is calculated and added at checkout and the total you will pay is shown to you before you confirm.

6.3 Each purchase is a single payment. Groundwork is not a subscription and nothing renews automatically.

6.4 Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store or see your card details.

6.5 Credits are added to your account when your payment has been completed.

6.6 We may change our prices at any time. A price change does not affect credits you have already bought.

7. Our money-back guarantee

7.1 If you are not satisfied with your first project, tell us within 30 days of your first purchase and we will refund that purchase in full.

7.2 The guarantee applies to your first project only. It applies once per person, household or business, however many email addresses, domain names, payment cards or company names are used.

7.3 If we refund your first purchase under this clause, the credit it bought is removed from your account.

7.4 Except as set out in clauses 7 and 8, bundles of 3, 5 or 10 credits are final and are not refundable.

7.5 We will refund you using the same payment method you used, within 14 days.

8. Your right to cancel if you are a consumer

8.1 If you are a consumer you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of your purchase, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

8.2 Groundwork starts as soon as you begin a project. By starting a project within those 14 days you ask us to begin supplying the service during the cancellation period.

8.3 If you cancel within 14 days, we will refund the price of any credits in that purchase that you have not used. A credit used to start a project is not refundable under this clause, except under clause 7 if it is your first project.

8.4 To cancel, email us at [email protected].

8.5 We will refund you using the same payment method you used, within 14 days.

9. Closing your account

9.1 You may close your account at any time by emailing us.

9.2 Except as set out in clauses 7 and 8, credits remaining when you close your account are not refundable.

9.3 Download any briefs you want to keep before you close your account. We are not obliged to keep them afterwards.

10. Acceptable use

10.1 Your account is for your own use, or the use of the business that bought it. You must not share, resell, sublicense or otherwise make your access available to anyone else.

10.2 You must not use the service, or attempt to use it, in a way designed to avoid payment. That includes using amendments to obtain more than one project from a single credit and claiming the money-back guarantee more than once.

10.3 You must not attempt to circumvent any limit, block or restriction we apply to your account.

10.4 You must not use the service to produce material that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent or that infringes anyone else’s rights.

10.5 You must not copy, scrape, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the underlying prompts, models, knowledge base or methodology behind the service.

11. Content you put in and output you get out

11.1 You keep ownership of anything you put into the service.

11.2 You may use the briefs commercially, including passing them to a copywriter, agency or client. We do not claim ownership of them.

11.3 Output is generated automatically and similar input may produce similar output for other customers. We cannot guarantee that output is unique to you and we give no warranty that using it will not infringe anyone else’s rights. You should check output before you rely on it.

11.4 You grant us a limited licence to process what you put in, for the purpose of operating the service.

12. Our intellectual property

12.1 The service, including its software, prompts, method, structure and the underlying body of work on which it is based, belongs to us or is licensed to us. Nothing in these terms transfers it to you.

12.2 “Groundwork” and “Drayton Bird” and the associated materials are ours or licensed to us.

13. Availability

13.1 We aim to keep the service available but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error free.

13.2 We may suspend the service for maintenance. Where we can, we will give you notice.

14. Suspension and termination by us

14.1 We may refuse a purchase, suspend access or close an account immediately, without refund, if we reasonably believe you have breached clause 4, 5.4 or 10.

14.2 Where we close an account under clause 14.1, any amount already due remains payable.

14.3 We may block a payment card, email address or domain from future purchases where we reasonably believe it has been used in breach of these terms.

14.4 We may close your account on 30 days’ notice for any other reason. If we do, we will refund the price of any credits you have paid for but not used.

14.5 Nothing in this clause affects any other right or remedy available to us.

15. Our liability to you

15.1 We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15.2 Consumers. We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable. We are not liable for business losses and if you use the service for any commercial purpose we will have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.

15.3 Business customers. Subject to clause 15.1, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings, loss or corruption of data or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

15.4 We are not liable for any loss arising from your use of output produced by the service, including any campaign, copy or decision based on it. You are responsible for checking it.

16. Your personal data

16.1 We handle your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy at https://groundworkmethod.best/privacy-policy-2/

16.2 We do not sell or share your details with third parties for their own marketing.

16.3 Payment details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by us.

17. Changes to these terms

17.1 We may change these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time you make a purchase.

17.2 We keep a record of previous versions and the dates on which they applied. You may ask us for the version that applied to your purchase.

17.3 Where a change materially affects your rights over credits you have already bought, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you may close your account before it applies and we will refund the price of any credits you have paid for but not used.

18. Complaints

18.1 If you are unhappy, email [email protected] and we will try to resolve it.

18.2 Consumers. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme.

19. Other important terms

19.1 We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will tell you if we do and it will not affect your rights.

19.2 You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our written agreement.

19.3 This contract is between you and us. No one else has any right to enforce it.

19.4 If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the rest will continue in force.

19.5 If we delay enforcing these terms, that does not prevent us enforcing them later.

20. Governing law

20.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

20.2 Consumers. You may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts there.

20.3 Business customers. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
